For Canadian scrap yards

Run a yard? We're buying.

We purchase non-ferrous and ferrous scrap directly from local yards, auto dismantlers and demolition contractors — regular offtake or one-off lots. Export-market demand means we can often bid above local mill prices.

Send photos and approximate tonnage — we come back with a real number, not a maybe.

  • Export-parity pricing

Our overseas order book lets us pay competitively on HMS, shredded feed, copper, aluminium and stainless.

  • We handle the logistics

Bins, pickup and trucking arranged. Weighment at certified scales, documents done properly.

  • Payment as agreed

Terms fixed before pickup and honoured on weighment — every load, every time.

Where we buy

Supply side — Canada

We source ferrous and non-ferrous scrap from yards, auto dismantlers, demolition contractors and industrial generators across Canada — based in Hamilton, Ontario, in the heart of the country's steel belt.

Where it goes

Demand side — worldwide

Material is supplied to steel mills, foundries, secondary smelters and recyclers — domestic buyers and overseas consuming markets — containerised or in bulk, with the documentation each destination requires.

Our services

One partner, the whole trade.

From sourcing and grading through documentation and delivery, Vertex Oversea handles every leg of the trade under one point of contact.

01

Material sourcing

Direct relationships with yards, auto dismantlers, demolition contractors and industrial generators across Canada — we go to our network first, not the spot market.

02

Grade verification

Every lot is checked against a written ISRI-grade spec before it moves — grade, recovery, moisture and contamination agreed up front, not disputed later.

03

Buyer–seller matching

We connect Canadian supply with the right consuming mill, foundry or smelter — handled by one point of contact from inquiry to delivery.

04

Export & logistics

Containerised or bulk, FOB to CIF. We coordinate inland freight, container loading, ocean freight and delivery to your facility or port.

05

Documentation & compliance

Weight certificates, ISRI grading records and full export/import paperwork prepared with every consignment so shipments clear customs cleanly.

06

Settlement on agreed terms

Price basis and payment terms fixed in writing before pickup, and honoured on certified-scale weighment — every load, every time.

Why Vertex

Built like a trading desk, not a junkyard.

01

Specification first

Every lot is traded against a written spec — ISRI grade, recovery, moisture, contamination limits — so both sides know exactly what changes hands.

02

Inspection & documentation

Pre-shipment inspection, weighbridge slips, photos of loading and complete export-import documentation with every consignment.

03

Logistics handled

Containerised or bulk, FOB to CIF — we coordinate freight, customs and delivery windows so material arrives when your furnace needs it.

How we settle

Getting paid, and getting what you paid for.

The part everyone actually worries about. Here's how money and material move on both sides of a Vertex Oversea trade — set in writing before anything leaves the ground.

If you're selling to us

Terms fixed before pickup

  • Price basis, grade and payment terms are agreed in writing before the truck is booked.
  • You're paid on verified weighment at a certified scale — the number isn't moved after the load leaves your yard.
  • Weighbridge slips and loading photos are shared as part of the settlement.

If you're buying from us

Contract terms, documented

  • Grade, price basis, Incoterm and payment method are set on an agreed contract up front.
  • Documentation — weight certificates, inspection, and shipping papers — is released against those agreed terms.
  • You know exactly what changes hands, and on what conditions, before funds move.
